Moving out of my parents house has been “the best of times and the worst of times, as they say.” I’m not some socially dysfunctional basement dwelling moocher but I was comfortable at home. I know my mother is not eager to see me leave the nest, and my stepfather has never put any pressure on me. I think he’s indulging my mother, like he always does, but I don’t think he really minds, either.We are a happy stepfamily, and always have been, but my friends are starting to give me a mostly good natured ribbing about it.
